The governor of the Northern Marianas, Ralph Torres, has warned people not to be fooled by fake social media accounts that are purportedly his own.

Mr Torres said the fake Facebook accounts had been reported to federal and local authorities.
He said his real Facebook account "Ralph DLG Torres", was created to share announcements and policy initiatives.
Mr Torres said the public should report account holders pretending to be him to the proper authorities.
